March 11, 2024 would have been our son Andrew’s 28th birthday.

Andrew reminds us that every human being is precious. His life and our loss inspire us to join the growing ecosystem of grassroots volunteers and mental health experts working hard to make Metabolic Psychiatry a first-line treatment for psychiatric symptoms.

Psychiatric symptoms have confounded doctors and tormented patients throughout history, with the aggression of treatment methods seeming to match their desperation for relief. Fortunately, humanity has come a long way from using trepanning, insulin shock therapy, and lobotomies. Even so, suffering and losses like ours have continued. There is much to grieve.

But there is so much to celebrate.

As Dr. Ede shares in the short video, humanity is ‘taking a quantum leap forward’ with Metabolic Psychiatry. This approach identifies and treats the root causes of symptoms, putting illness into total remission or drastically reducing the role of medication. It gives patients their lives back and transforms doctors' practices.

What patients like Andrew need are psychiatrists trained in implementing metabolic interventions while managing medication. Here’s how you can help make that happen:
